In march of this year after the launch of North Korean Missiles the U.S deployed THAAD Missile defense systems to strategic locations in South Korea. This raised the ire of the Chinese who fear the defense system could be used to curtail their secondary nuclear strike capabilities. In response China launched a concerted campaign to get its citizens and companies to boycott South Korean industries and companies. One of the main targets of this unofficial boycott were the LOTTE group, who had lent to the South Korean government the land which was used to place the THAAD system. This has had a considerable cost to South Korea's economy, who's tourism industry relies heavily on Chinese tourists. The two countries have finally agreed to talks scheduled to be held on November 10th to 11th. The meeting will take place as a part of a leader level summit in Vietnam during an APEC conference.
